Testimonials

"What is an Informatics Educator?"

"Informatics Educators leverage healthcare education expertise to deliver onboarding and ongoing informatics development for the healthcare professional. We foster interdisciplinary collaboration among clinicians, IT, informaticists and education professionals. Through surveys, research, presentations, and publication, we are mapping the state of informatics education, developing practical resources and standardized roles and responsibilities, with the goal to improve healthcare outcomes for patients."

Lacey Jensen
Senior Director - Informatics Education, Stanford Health Care

"An informatics educator is a professional who designs and delivers training that helps healthcare staff effectively use clinical information systems (like EHRs), data tools, and digital workflows to support patient care. They are important because they bridge the gap between technology and clinical practice. By ensuring users understand not just how to use systems but why they matter, informatics educators improve adoption, reduce errors, enhance efficiency, and support continuous learning. Recognizing this role as a critical part of healthcare IT, operations, and professional development ensures that technology investments translate into safer care, better outcomes, and a more competent, confident workforce."

Lori Reece
Healthcare Solution Director, UPerform

" An Informatics Educator is the bridge between technology and human care - someone who sees not just the system, but the person behind the screen. They listen, translate, and guide with intention, turning complexity into clarity and frustration into confidence. With compassion and purpose, they elevate the end user experience, ensuring that every click , every workflow, and every interaction supports what matters most: safe, meaningful patient care."
